Discover the beautiful art of bookbinding.

In this hands-on class, you will learn foundational bookbinding techniques, including folding paper, creating signatures, and sewing pages into a cover to create an A5 sized journal.

Over the 18 years as a bookbinder, I have developed processes based upon traditional methods that enable the creation of beautiful handcrafted books without large equipment or messy glue.

You will be working with sumptuous Italian paper, Egyptian Cotton threads and Vegan leather*. I'll share with you the processes that I've developed in my studio where I work with genuine leather and Liberty of London fabrics. And if you wish, you too will be able to graduate to these materials following this introductory beginner class.

'Do you teach bookbinding?' is one of my most frequent responses when people discover what I do. If you too would like to learn then I'll be delighted to welcome you to class.

Tea and coffee is provided but you may like to bring a light lunch if you do not wish to purchase from the cafes nearby. We will be stopping for a short lunch break.

*Vegan friendly materials

I look forward to welcoming you to class. Let's play!

All materials provided.  Just bring your joy for learning and sense of curiosity.

***I will be in touch via email a few days prior to workshop day.
